And if he's the ninth doctor, what does that make Matt? The Ninth Doctor with a slight cold?

Feel free to delete this if it's being discussed ad nauseum everywhere else, but what are the thoughts about (Bafta Winner no less) Bill Nighy being named as the next Doctor?

Quote: Well, if it were Bill Nighy, then I probably would be prepared to discuss his take on the role. However, given it's actually Christopher Eccleston who is the new TV Ninth Doctor, then I'd much prefer to chat about him instead. Quote: Nope - I am the BTR Ninth Doctor, as stated on all our download pages. Just like Richard E. Grant is the BBCi Ninth Doctor, Rupert Booth is the Timebase Eighth Doctor, etc... |

and rowan atkinson is the comic relief 9th doctor, richard e grant (again!) is the comic relief 10th doctor, etc...
it's a potentially interesting discussion (and just barely on topic for this sub-forum), but one that can be quite easily addressed by making the following statement: these are parallel takes on the same fictional source text. nothing is certain. maybe.

Witold,
Quote: Very true mate. This could go on and on forever, with no end in sight! There's just too many Doctors around these days! Quote: Yep. Could not have put it better myself, mate. |

Quote: in fact, darran's still trying to nut out a story that'll attempt to explain it all! i'm still undecided as to whether i want that element featuring in the story (which is planned as a one-off "side step" sort of thingy), but he certainly handles it quite well! nothing is certain. maybe.

Well the Courier-Mail did a bang up job reporting that it was Bill Nighy.
Have just found the official BBC report. Goody goody. |

Quote: LOL - yes, they did. It was quite funny, seeing them reprint the erroneous Daily Mail report from Saturday. Quote: Yep - and now we've learnt that DWM #342 will carry the headline "Christopher Eccleston IS the Doctor!". Yay! |
