Posts: 60 (09/11/03 15:46:41) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts	Tags : None hello...just to let folks know about the Staggering Stories website. its a silly site with stories and nonsense....it does, however, have a rather large audio section of nearly 50 mp3s, featuring trailers for some of the written stories as well as plenty of Who inspired music (including a little teaser of something conected with this place, er, I think, lol) as well as some Who/Fast Show sketches that actually work! The mp3s are not up in any particualr order (apart from the trailers) so you might spot the learning curve, lol. ok, spamming over www.staggeringstories.net

Am so pleased you stopped by and introduced yourself! I've been such a big fan of the Staggering Stories work for some time now - especially some of that music (Paddy Kingsland - eat your heart out!), and the whole Buccaneer Chronicles seems like such a splendid idea! Am looking forward to more for your output in the near future!

And thanks for the kind words VERY appreciated. I suppose I should explain The Buccaneer Chronicles for those who don't know ( so, ,thats 99% of you then, is it? lol). The whole thing is based around a role playing game. Its our own take on the fasa system. We DO NOT use the Doctor - I mean, everyone else seems to....we just wanted a little more freedom. What if the time lord in question wasn't stable? What if he was slowley going mad?. What if he is starting to think that only he knows whats best? And what if, in trying to do the right thing, his madness takes him into the abyss? A flawed hero? Or a rampaging psychotic? And this is only the first season. The arc as it stands covers the JMS approved "five year plan" (LOL). Its about responsibility. Its about actions and words having long lasting effects. And there are many shocks to come. The good thing about not using the Doctor is we can get away with a lot more then he ever could. Thats not to say they won't meet in the dim and distant future, but for now, Lord Macfadyanagogobibblebibblelungbarrowmas (er, , thats TWO bibbles and ONE "s"!!) doesn't even know the Doctor exists. (that will change in the story "The Vampire Mutations or Bucky The Vampire Slayer" (not my joke!). Saying that, Aaron and I have chatted about doing a crossover audio.....that should proove....loud. As I've said in the Staggering Stories sub forum on floor ten, we aren't the world's best writers...we know that. We are just trying to tell our story as best we can. One day we will actually do a full play...but for now you'll have to content yourselves with the text stories and the audio trailers. As the trailers will be all one gets to hear....(though I'd LOVE to actually do the full plays), ,The trailers have to give the best overall view of the stories. So part of what I do with them is use the music to help tell the tale. So expect recurring themes as well as some arraingements of familiar Doctor Who incidental themes just to help make you feel at home. Its not wholley serious...theres a lot of (purile) humour in there, ,lol. but the actual arc is very serious....you'll start to notice the whole thing darkening beggining with the next story, Keeping The Peace. key stories for season one? Catharcerous, Keeping The Peace, er...well....nearly all of them after that. I'm going for a season 18 atmosphere - make of that what you will. Though Im responsible for putting the sound and music for the trailers together, (heh, as well as starring as the Buccaneer, lol) and have a hand in the arc, I'm not doing this on my own. There are four of us running Staggering Stories under the watchfull eye of big boss George and we all have an equal say on various aspects....so all credit must be shared with Adam, Andy and especially keith whose wonderfull imagination took a simple moment of forgetfullness on my part in game, and made it into a wonderfull rollar coaster ride that should please any Who fan - at least, thats what the pr blurb says, LOL. There were plans to turn it into a cgi series, after changing and removing all who references....alas, they fell through. One request...if anyone whose good at art, be it computer or otherwise, phot manip etc would like to lend a hand we'd be gratefull... ok...hope that explains things a little enjoy mac www.staggeringstories.net

On the Channel Island of Jersey, a primeval force is stiring. People are dying in odd ways whilst others are experiencing moments of purest joy and hope. Enter the Buccaneer, Cre'at the Sot'm and Blanche. Things are bound to get emotional. Catharcerous (trailer with updated version soon to come) There's a chair in my head, it's where I used to sit. Landing on the idyllic planet Catharcerous, Lord Macfadyan and his associates become embroiled in a desperate struggle. After a quick trip to the planet's future, the Time Lord returns to discover the true force behind the planet's woes and it soon becomes clear that the Buccaneer has little patience for these creatures. Could the words of an old, prophetic song about the legendary Judder Man be coming true?.The Beast is loose upon the world - but then, so is the beloved of the Dark Lady... The Iytean Menace (trailer) Daisy don't drown me this time. Victorian London and in the sewers something stirs. Testing out a new Blanche, our heroes discover anachronistic weaponry and possession. And someone, somewhere, decides that Lord Macfadyan is now a target.... Based on the FASA scenario. City of Gold (trailer) "All hail Ooofarfoo. All hail the big floating head!" Time Lords hate a paradox. It makes them go all twitchy. After narrowly avoiding being time rammed in the vortex, the Ship lands in South America. However, the Human race appears to never have existed. Going back in time to seek out the cause of this, Lord Macfadyan and Cre'at loose the TARDIS and find the Spanish. Ol' three eyes is back, desperate for survival as always. And just who is the great god Oofarfoo? Based on the FASA scenario Keeping the Peace (trailer) Talk of change lately but everythings been done before Israel. 1999. Captain Curtis of UNIT is having problems. The discovery of a strange orb leads him to think an invasion will shortly be under way. The only hope he has for help is Cre'at. Oh, and possibly a mysterious stranger by the name of Adh Saidhe. And just what has happened to Lord Macfadyan? Could the Judder Man be closer then he thinks...? If the vision he receives is anything to judge by, then yes, he is... Vampire Mutations AKA Bucky the Vampire Slayer (trailer and updated version to come) Faces come out of the rain. Taking the Ship into E-Space so that both she and the crew can rest, relax and have a picnic, Lord Macfadyan discovers a planet with just one village sitting around a large tower. There he discovers he's not the first Time Lord to have visited this planet. And he isn't impressed. Whoever came before didn't finish the job. Still, what can you expect from inexperienced youngsters? An old enemy is again on the move. Is Lord Macfadyan's faith before his mind? Facing up to things, he finds that his mind, or rather, his conscience, isn't all it's cracked up to be.... Musical Interlude (trailer) The sandman my friend is living in his own skin and can't stand the company. Shaken by events on the vampire planet, Lord Macfadyan is surprised to hear music drifting up the Ship's corridors. Following it he discovers a somewhat cryptic butler who takes him to a show. And what a show! You know the sort, where every line sung or spoken seems to speak directly to you. Maybe, just maybe, someone understands and is trying to help... maybe. Dreaming on the Spires of Immortality Like ghosts they disappear across the land. Night time in a huge, dark city. Just why do the walls move? Who are the rulers? And who is Amanda and how does she know Lord Macfadyan? He's never met her before, that's for certain. In this place, Death is a constant companion, or would be if some had their way. However, Lord Macfadyan is hardly in a fit state to care. As the song says, "Insanity laughs - under pressure we're breaking...." Interlude on Sotus You do trust me don't you? Of course you do... Back in N-Space, the Ship lands on Cre'at's home planet. There Lord Macfadyan, close to breaking point, starts to fight back. In Israel he dipped into the future, and now he is preparing for the worst. Meanwhile, Cre'at discovers some new political appointments that are unexpected. Dancing with Crystal Reflections (The Judder Trailer is from this story...) Hello darkness my old friend, I've come to talk with you again. Since Catharcerous, Lord Macfadyan has buried the memories of the horendous act he committed. However, a mysterious white figure leads him straight into his own vision. And the dam begins to break. Just what is Adh Saidhe doing on Karn? Why is the Spinward Corporation mining there? And why do Ohica and the Sisterhood seem fatalistic about it? Confronting Saidhe, Lord Macfadyan finally learns of his folly. Magus, Warlock, Judder Man., all fit him well. But none so snug as the mantle of Death's Champion.... And the Clock Struck Thirteen Time, time, time, see what become of me as I look around at my possibilities. After a quick stop off on Sot'us, a Sot'us oddly changed, and desperate to put things right, Lord Macfadyan is incensed to find himself and his associates recalled to Gallifrey - a planet that abandoned him for dead millennia ago. There he finds that it isn't just the Sot'm homeworld that has been affected. All has changed and changed for the worse. The Lord President is mad. Completely insane. And the Buccaneer is almost as bad. Can Lord Macfadyan bring himself to stare into the face of madness? And why is that face oddly familiar? Solve my Problems (two trailers to come) Here me now dark and unbearable world thou art base and debauched as can be but a knight with his banners all bravely unfurled now hurls down his guantlet to thee. Still haunted by the distant stranger, Lord Macfadyan returns to the scene of his crime. There he attempts to put the world, and the universe, to rights. Can he hold himself together long enough to put his plan into action? Even if he does, sometimes one's fate is in the hands of others. The cover illustration portrays the third Lord Macfadyan, who came into being when his former self committed suicide...
