With Mydas and Mrs. Blubber remaining on Earth to help restore the planet, the remaining crew: Turnidus, Cindy, Gamak, Frag, Yztabub, Hywel, Snyder and Cilla speed off in the 'Nick of Time' for Xoolian Major to finally resolve all the issues.... With Frag's help, Snyder tries to unscramble the mysterious SOS which isn't all it seems. Suffice to say that once on the ravaged planet 2 of our friends are caught in a trap, another 2 discover some bizarre life forms and another 2 are confronted by an admission they just can't quite believe....... And Cindy finally pieces the jigsaw together and realises why Arran wants her dead and exactly who he is.......

He's such a great character to write for and Nick plays him absolutely brilliantly. When I first heard him in SOL 1, I was over the moon that he'd got the character spot on. Turnidus is innocent, yet fashion savvy, unaware yet sensitive, care free yet caring. I suppose you could say, he's the 'care free' side of me coming through in my writing! The ending of SOL has been recorded - well, let me put it this way...the 'endings' have been recorded...... Is it a happy ending? Does Turnidus die? Do any of them die? Let's just say, that things will never be the same again..........

I would say I'm really disappointed, but actually it gives me more time as I'm re-listening to the entire series again. I'm up to CD7 so I don't have to rush to finish the rest. Down side to that is that I'm on holiday when its due out now, so I'll have to wait until I'm back to hear how the story progresses. I've just listened to part 11 and I haven't giggled so much since Teddy's 'death' scene in 'Planet of Death' or the colonoscope in 'Breaking Loose' and Turnidus and Frag's 'birds and the bees' talk in 'Earth Quake'. The cast and their characters are excellent. The series reminds me of when I was younger and spending my Sunday mornings watching the Dr Who and Blake's 7 omnibus on UK Gold, so quite nostalgic for me. But it's the interweaving storylines and the bizarre creations that have kept me hooked; the Retsarb is the Wirrn meets the Mestor, the Pallbearers are as evil as the Daleks and as macabre as the Autons I also see references to other Robotic-Psychotics in Dr Who...There are still many unanswered questions : Is Colonel Franklyn really dead? Where has her Android Replica gone with all the Space Patrol officers? Will the Retsarb-Heklian spread its foul spawn across the Galaxy? Who is Caely's father, Gamak or Snyder? What is going on in Aaran's factory? Will Turnidus cope with his pregnacy? And how will Doctor Proctor cope when she finds out she's a father...mother?! Oh I don't know! Will Aaran 'suceed'? Did he escape from Medicworld with that irritating scouser? Will Madame D be reunited with her son (I've an uneasy feeling who it is!)?... The list goes on and on but, as you can imagine, I'm gagging for the next installment.

I'm so pleased you're enjoying SOL, and hope that you get many more listens out of each CD! Yes, much of what is written in SOL is influenced by programmes I've watched whether Dr. Who, Blake's Seven, Tomorrow People, Sapphire & Steel, French & Saunders, Victoria Wood, Tenko, Hitchhikers, Red Dwarf, Brookside and so on! Regarding your questions: (1) Yes, Colonel Franklyn is definitely dead, although the body has gone missing on Medicworld. (2) Her android replica & the entire space patrol bodies are somewhere out there in the universe, but we definately don't find out this season. (3) Caelys' father? No comment..... (4) Arran's factory - Find out in SOL 12/13 (5) Turnidus always copes.....but it's not him who's the problem - it's others around him....... (6) Dr Proctor is an octopus on a mission - and not a very nice one....find out in SOL 12/13/14 (7) Will Arran succeed? Depends how you qualify success ( You find out Arran and the irritating scouser's fate in SOL 12 & 13 respectively (9) Madame D reunited with her son?...Well let's just say, SOL 13 is not called 'Revelations' for nothing......
