Once again, the content seems geared towards the non-fan or newbie (mostly because so much of what is said is pretty much common knowledge for anyone who's been in fandom for more than 2-3 years). However, having said that it is still nice to have it all located in one single commentary, as opposed to a variety of reference texts on the subject. However, the technical presentation is still just as poor as that found on "The Five Doctors" - clicks and pops abound, occasionally people sound like they're off in a bucket somewhere, the deep breathing of doom has returned... overall, I need to give this release two distinct scores, as once score couldn't do it justice. Content: 4 / 5 (Good) Technical Realisation: 2 / 5 (Poor) When I die, I want to go peacefully just like my grandfather did - in his sleep. Not screaming like the other passengers in his car.

The heavy breathing should now be fixed on our latest one - Star Trek - Wrath of Khan (available now for download folks!). We found it was David Campbell breathing dirty thoughts into the microphone. :-) We've asked him now to keep his mind on the job. :-) Attack of the Clones on its way! Trev.

It's pretty much non-existant on the Wrath of Khan commentary. Now, if only they could fix the pops and clicks issue, then I'd be a perfectly happy man. Oh, and while you're at it - maybe back off from the mic a bit when you're all talking at the same time. It tends to overload the poor thing. When I die, I want to go peacefully just like my grandfather did - in his sleep. Not screaming like the other passengers in his car.

Posts: 258 (03/09/03 16:22:36) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts	I have a funny feeling the pops and clicks are going to be an endearing trait of all our commentaries - we have two microphones amongst three people so we have to be able to pass it - and we get the clicks and noise. One day we may invest in a free standing microphone (like the one I have seen in one of your behind the scenes videos perhaps?) and then we will be right. Until then though... enjoy! Trev.

The mic was about $90 when I bought it -- about seven or eight years ago now -- and the stand was $45 later on. I'm not sure if the same models are still readily available, but comparable ones should be about $200-odd, depending on which store you go to -- I bought that gear from a Tandy store, but Dick Smith or a specialised audio gear store should be other viable possibilities.
