A new colour scheme has been decided upon, which will consist of a grey background with a two-tone blue colour scheme for the tables on the pages themselvs. The text will revert to a white Verdana typeface. I find it much more pleasing on the eye than this current colour scheme.
The other major decision which has occured this week is in relation to our downloads - specifically, our audio adventures. After discussions which took place on this forum, I've re-encoded our entire back catalogue (took 5 hours!) of audios using the new AAC codec.
Although it took me a while to fiddle with the settings, what this resulted in was file sizes and quality ratios being almost the same as our old RealAudio 8 files from this year. However, the added advantage of this is that the codec is less dependant on one player, unlike RealAudio 8.
Before anyone complains about not being able to play AAC files (it plays in both Apple's iTunes and Quicktime players) I have also implemented a much easier way for everyone to download the files. You'll find out more when the site goes live in the New Year - believe me!
