Not sure if this is the correct place to post this or not. I noted in the Countdown thread that Matt mentioned an approaching revamp to the BTR site and asked if any suggestions could be placed in the appropriate section in the feedback part of the opinion forum. I couldn't find any topic already started here about it, thus my beginning of this thread.
Essentially I am responding to some of the comments made by the nameless mystery poster in the Countdown thread who posed a lot of highly scientific questions regarding the location of the Countdown story, and while Matt and Witold both responded that such intensity of detail of information is often left out where story flow would otherwise be impeded, it occurred to me that such information can still be generated in tandem with the tales but in a different location.
Comic books often have back up features including such things as timelines, character profiles, world histories, etc and it occurs to me that the BTR website would be the perfect place to provide a veritable truckload of similar supporting material to the audio and video stories already released, both Who related and otherwise.
In relation to the Who stories so many worlds have been visited and so many characters introduced that it seems only right that more information about those places and people be provided. How about character profiles on Chloe, Guy and Zautrino? How about a secret file containing what little is known about the Informed Man? And why not follow up on the mystery posters suggestions regarding Countdown by providing a scientific breakdown of the place, people and culture of the world that Guy and the Doctor encountered so briefly? And the other BTR worlds too, like the planet in the Vortex that the Doctor faced Ouroborus on, like the land of Elton that lies in one of the forgotten dimensions of the TARDIS. These amazing places are glimpsed so briefly in the audios that it would be wonderful to find out more about them in documentary evidence provided through the website.
This goes for the Beyond Traditional Recognition range too. This sort of fun exploration of realms already visited and people already encountered would be both entertaining and informative. Heck, there could even be short stories and the like put up, detailing things like Thomas Caldwell's early adventures with the eighth Doctor and Chloe's troubled life after parting company with the ninth.
I for one, anyway, think it'd be a grand way to further explore the myriad of exciting worlds of BTR. Does anyone else have any thoughts, ideas or feelings on the issue?
All the best
