in particular, i'm pleased to see that further unit files are still on the cards, as i wasn't sure what the progress was like with these. as producer of all the rest of the film projects, i can confirm that our plans are realistic, and many of these new projects will indeed be out by the end of the year! (one correction, though: i won't be directing "in gratitude" -- that duty instead goes to james miller, so is also providing the cgi for the film.)
at last we have some new fan artwork as well! the wallpaper is quite intriguing, and would make a nice addition to my desktop if not for two elements: (1) the resolution is only 800x600, and (2) the head shot of matt is pretty dire. not only is it a less than flattering photo, but it's also a touch too big and seems to be crooked at an unnatural angle... however, a very nice attempt, and certainly a good first go.
now, the "sahul" cover... not as deliciously lovely as mark brill's official one, i'm afraid, but certainly a good attempt at a photo montage version. again, the shot of matt could have been a little better (isn't this the same head, albeit flipped over?), but the use of the tom baker outfit suits him. the picture of guy is excellent, i have to say: sinister, brooding, but charismatic and stylish. an excellent choice. (its placement somewhere other than under the title is also to its advantage!) the use of raptors is a bit cliched these days, but it still works. (perhaps a t-rex, as depicted in the actual adventure, might have worked a touch better.) compositionally, this is a very stylish and effective cover; however, the colour balance should be more uniform. also, who is the woman at the top? is this supposed to be a representation of sahul itself? (who, let's not forget, actually resembles a time engine.) or natasha x, perhaps? either way, i'm sure both suse and kelly would be flattered at the use of such an attractive model. (which isn't to say that they're not attractive themselves, mind you!)
on the whole, this has been rather a nice update. i notice that my previous layout change request hasn't been taken up, but the problem is less persistent with the season two pages, so that's not such a hassle. it's also good to see that the links page has been updated, and there are some very good new additions which i recommend everyone checks out.
now, i wonder what next week's update is going to be... and matt, if you need any help deciding, i think i should have the remix of "deep undercurrents" ready in the next week or two. would be sooner, but i got a new toy today, so i'm going to be backing videos up to dvd-r through to retirement would be my guess!
